What should I do if the MoCA device does not connect to my MoCA-ready router/gateway?
One of the first steps to take is to make sure your router/gateway is MoCA-ready with your ISP. If they have confirmed that it is MoCA-ready. Make sure they have enabled the MoCA feature inside the router/gateway firmware.
Sometimes this feature is enabled by default, and sometimes it is not. Only your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or the manufacturer of the router/gateway can tell you this. There are too many different models for Screenbeam to keep track of this information
Another thing you will need to confirm is the version of MoCA that the router/gateway is currently capable of. This is important to confirm what kind of speed you can expect out of your devices.
An additional step you can take would be to disable the built-in MoCA in your router and purchase an additional ECB and connect that to your router/gateway, and use that as the main MoCA device. Then add additional MoCA devices in the locations where you need Ethernet. This can be helpful when the router/gateway is using an older version of MoCA than what your devices currently are, but it does come with an additional cost of buying additional units from us.
You need a least two MoCA devices to make a MoCA network. One can be your router/gateway and one of our devices, or just two of our devices.
You can have up to 16 MoCA devices. This means 16 ECB's but you can connect as many devices as your router can support to those ECBs.
