What is the MPS button for?

The MPS (MoCA Protected Setup) button is used to copy the password that is currently stored in the ECBs on the Security page under Network Security for the different bands to any new MoCA adaptors that you add to your network.

The MPS button is enabled by default, but security is not enabled by default. This button will not do anything until you log into the device and enable the security.

MPS will only work with devices that use the MoCA 2.5 standard, such as our ECBs. So if you have devices that are using an older MoCA standard like MoCA 2.0 or older (which include our WCB6200Q and ECB6200), this button will not allow you to add additional adaptors to your MoCA network. The MPS button is not the same as the WPS button on some of our other devices.
