How do I update the firmware on my ScreenBeam ECB6200 Hardware version 4a

Step 1: Determine Hardware Version
One of the first and most important steps in upgrading the firmware in the ECB6200 is to determine the hardware version. This information can be found at the bottom of the device on the FCC sticker. Installing the wrong firmware on the wrong hardware version can ruin your device. Please look at the example below on where to find the hardware version. ECB6200 FCC Sticker

Step 2: Determine Current Firmware Version
After you have determined the hardware version, you can determine the firmware version you have. There are several different ways to find this information, listed in order of complexity.

  1. The firmware will also be listed on the FCC sticker right below the hardware version. As you can see in the image above, it will be listed next to the letters F/W: X.XX.X.
  2. You log into the device.
  3. Go to the "Upgrade" page under "Advanced." Then you can see in the Active Image Version field that this would be the current firmware version. See the image below.ECB Upgrade page
  • H/W: 4A - The most current firmware can be found on the product support page. Click here to open that page
  • H/W: 2A, 2B, and 2C - Are Considered End-of-Life and end-of-support, and their information can be found on our End of Life page.

Step 3: Complete Firmware Upgrade

  1. Download the firmware upgrade to your desktop and remember what the file is called. It should always end in a ".bin"
    1. If it ends in a ".zip", you must extract the file before continuing in the firmware upgrade process.
  2. Once you are logged into the device once again follow the steps found in this FAQ.
  3. Click on the "Upgrade" page under "Advanced".
  4. Select "Choose File"
  5. Then, browse to your desktop where you downloaded the file.
  6. Select "Upgrade"
  7. Once the Upgrade is complete, the device will ask you to reboot.
  8. Select the reboot button, and once you can see the login screen once again, the firmware upgrade is complete.

If the firmware upgrade fails at any point, try these steps:

  • Power cycle the ECB
  • Retry with a stable internet connection.
  • Perform a factory reset and try again.
