How come I can't get symmetrical speeds with MoCA?
Because of the nature of the MoCA network, there are always slight differences between the MoCA TX and RX rates. The rates will be similar but not the same in most cases.
In some cases, a MoCA link can appear slower or less stable in one direction if there are coax issues, such as poor cable quality, old or unapproved splitters, excessive attenuation, or interference from other RF services on the same coax. These are signal‑quality or installation problems, not a built‑in MoCA cap on upload or download.
But since the MoCA only works in half-duplex, the TX and RX share the bandwidth. So Symmetrical speeds between the two MoCA devices CANNOT be obtained.
